Composed of 18k yellow gold, the bracelet features a 22k yellow gold coin charm inscribed with Arabic. The Grand Tour was the traditional holiday of the wealthy during the Art Nouveau era and was an opportunity for young aristocrats to learn more about the histories, art, and cultures of other countries. The coin is made out of 22k yellow gold and features Arabic inscriptions which sit within an outer border of curling leaf and vine patterns. A small hole was carefully drilled near the top of the coin so it could be strung on a jump ring bale which was then attached to the band of the bracelet. The bracelet itself consists of 18k yellow gold bent and twisted by hand into a repeating filigree pattern. This bracelet has no clasp and is meant to be worn over the wrist through the gap with the coin dangling against the wrist. A lovely example of Grand Tour jewelry from the Arabic-speaking world, this bracelet would make a valuable addition to any antique jewelry collection.
