1984 Isle of Man Gold Angel (Proof). The Isle of Man Gold Angel is one of the longest-running gold coins for sale.
Since the early 1980s, the Isle of Man Gold Angel coin series has been available from the Pobjoy Mint in England. This coin series is based on the historic gold coin in England known as the angel noble.
Features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The 1984 1/20 oz Proof Isle of Man Angel Gold Coin NGC PF70 UCAM is graded with a PF70 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. A PF70 grading means that this coin is considered a perfect specimen. Even when viewed at a 5x magnification, the 1984 coin has no post-production imperfections and retains its original, full mint luster. The 1984 coin also includes a UCAM label, meaning the background of the coin is deeply-mirrored, with the heavily frosted design floating above the coin's surface.
The UCAM label offers a great visual contrast for the viewer. The English Angel gold coin was first issued in England in 1465 during the reign of Yorkist monarch King Edward IV. The Isle of Man Series of Angel Gold Coins closely resembles the English Angel gold coin by borrowing from its design. Michael the Archangel remains on these newer coins, but the monarchy is portrayed differently on the obverse with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
