The British Royal Mint began manufacturing Gold Britannia coins in 1987. Since then, the Britannia has become a staple of British Coinage, populating portfolios worldwide. Silver Britannia coins followed a decade later in 1997, and the first Platinum Britannia debuted in 2018.
