The Perth Mint's Australian Gold Kangaroo coin series was first released in 1987 with a depiction of the Australian gold nugget. Three years after its introduction, the nugget design was revamped with one of Australia's most iconic creatures, the kangaroo. This change garnered genuine interest from both coin collectors and wildlife enthusiasts.
9999 pure gold coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II. Redesigned annually, the reverse of the coin shows a stunning rendition of the kangaroo in the wild. These gold coins are struck using a unique two-tone frosted technique.
Due in part to this design aesthetic, the Australian Gold Kangaroo coin series is now one of the most highly sought-after series of bullion currency. Ungraded or raw bullion products are carefully made to retain the natural appearance of precious metals. However, these characteristics do not affect the value of the items. Large items might show more of these marks but maintain their value.
