Coin Design The reverse of this coin features the artwork of John Mardon. The reverse is a representation of the gold refining process; it depicts molten gold forming a metal sheet that is then cut into pure gold coin blanks. The coin bears the signature radial lines of all Mint bullion coins, as well as a micro-engraved maple leaf mark showing the number 24 to correspond to its year of issue. Surrounding the reverse design are the inscriptions CANADA, 2024, 99999, FINE GOLD, 1 OZ, OR PUR and the initials JM for the designer. The obverse design shows the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III.
