An antique English, solid 15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) locket fob; beautifully made, with a bloodstone panel to one side and the hinged lid formed from an 1787 22 carat gold George III guinea coin. Lovely quality, so collectible & perfect for wear on a chain! Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Expected detail wear to coin - see pictures. DATE/MARKS : Coin dated 1787, mounted around 1880. DIMENSIONS : 24 mm diameter (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
