Age Circa: Vintage Art Deco Style. Markings : "14k" and an unidentified maker's mark (GC) on the bale, Tested, and Guaranteed. Metal Type: 14k Yellow Gold, Copper Coin. Item Measurements: The pendant measures 1.65" in length and 1.2" wide. Notable Features: This pendant was handmade in the vintage Art Deco style. Composed of 14k yellow gold, the pendant features a large Greek drachma coin made out of copper. The drachma coin is made out of copper with small amounts of aluminum and nickel. It bears the image of Alexander the Great on its face and the Vergina Sun imagery on the back. The inscription around the face of the coin reads. Which can be translated as "Alexander the Great, Macedonian Kingdom, " while the back bears the inscription. The coin is kept secure in an 14k yellow gold prong setting which is surrounded by a wide border of yellow gold. A yellow gold standard bale completes the piece, allowing it to be strung on a variety of necklaces and chains. A lovely tribute to the souvenir jewelry brought on Grand Tour during the Art Deco era, this pendant would make a valuable addition to any jewelry collection, as well as an excellent gift for any coin collector.
