Magnificent c. 1750 Georgian 1.15 Ct. Diamond Blue Enamel Ring in 22K Coin Gold
An absolutely stunning and emblematic mid 18th century Georgian era, circa 1750 diamond ring in heavy 22 karat yellow coin gold and deep Royal Blue enamel. The fine round rose cut diamond centerpiece measures 7.1x7.0mm and has an estimated weight of about 1.05 carats. Under close inspection the stone shows a superb VS clarity range (although close set with an silver amalgamation base), as well as possessing a great and sparkling I-J white color. The overall design of the ring depicts a tessellated and alternating triangles of Royal Blue enamel and smaller diamond sections, further supported by stylized floral decorations. There are a total of 14 small diamonds set throughout all of the decorations with a total estimated weight of another 0.10 carats. Gross weight of the ring is 6.1 grams and ring size is 53 (US size 6.5 / UK size M), but can be resized. Most likely an antique English or Swiss manufacture. This exceptional early Georgian era diamond ring shows an emblematic design for this period and is a true antique jewelry collector piece. Rings of this particular design, appearance and quality are rarely seen offered for sale and generally belong to private collections. Scarce piece of antique jewelry and one of the very rare 18th century Georgian diamond rings and jewels.
