A luxurious pair of ancient coin, ruby and diamond earrings in solid 18K yellow gold. These lovely earrings date to the retro period. They are bold, luxurious and dramatic in design.
The ancient coins are set in thick exclusive gold frames that are studded with precious earth mined natural vivid red ruby and fine Colombian emerald cabochons. Together they weigh 22.99 grams. There are 0.20 carats of VS/SI F/G/H single cut grain set diamonds which are accents surrounding the base of the set vivid gem rubies. The exquisite gem ruby cabochons each weigh 0.60 carats and measure on average 5.2mm x 3.9mm x 2.7mm.
They are perfectly matched for color and transparency and are each rub over set by a master gem setter. The total fine natural ruby weight is 2.40 carats. Also set by a master gem setter are 4 dazzling colombian emerald cabochons of fine gem quality and perfectly matched for color. These vivid green emeralds each measure 3.5mm by 3.5mm by 1.8mm individually weighing 0.18 carats. The total natural emerald weight is 0.72 carats. This makes the total precious gem and fine diamond weight 3.32 carats.
The coins themselves depict Constantine the Great. This amazing style has recently been made famous by the prolific work of the luxury jewelry maker Bvlgari. Each spectacular earring measures 1 3/16" long and is 15/16" wide (30mm x 24mm). They have omega backs on the reverse which are exceptionally comfortable to wear.
Each lovely cabochon ruby is perfectly matched to every other vivid red ruby in the earrings. Similarly the vivid green emeralds are perfectly matched in color.
